As far as we have discussed and read many times that everyone is saying, a BA need not have coding knowledge. Well, That’s true. But here we need to understand that coding is not everything for the project. Apart from coding, there are few technical skills such as database knowledge and data modeling, statistical analysis tools, wireframes tools, visual models, etc.
Here we are gonna discuss what type of tools and technical knowledge a business analyst should possess. As we have discussed in my blog “Which domain is best for a business analyst?”
The technical skillset varies from domain to domain. As in IT the programming skills or programming language is mandatory to build an application in E-commerce or FMCG domain the ERP solutions get used. In this scenario, you need to know the functionality more than the technical skills. If you know the functionality of the business process very well then you will be able to describe the problem and will get the best possible solution for it. Then explaining the same to the developer and getting the work done is not a big deal.
Talking about the tools required to create documentation, use case diagrams, data flow diagrams, there are few wireframe tools available in the market such as Lucidcharts, Balsamique, etc. MS- office is widely used for documentation. JIRA for change request management, etc. Getting trained into a few of the industry required tools is a must. And as a BA you have to be proficient in these kinds of tools.
At BA centric we are providing the training and workshops. This training covers the entire type of domains and their business processes. We also give real-time project work experience by giving the case studies. Our interactive workshops help you to build the resume and also practicing with mock interviews. Our training program give the 100% assurance of the job placements.
Good Luck!!
